Anybody here with experience with this round? I've found one (BHP in 9mm with extra BBL in 41ae) for sale on gunbroker and thought it might be good to try. New brass @ Midway was $61.00/50 a little steep I think . Any factory loads you know of? Thanks, man I LOVE this forum!!

Setsuo: Will regular .40S&W dies work? Got anything to sell, dies, brass, etc? What diameter is the bore, nominally? Thanks, Ken

Only one recipe on this forums data, using a 210 bullet and Blue Dot, which Paul5388 adores, LOL!

Yes, I do all my own stunts!!

I have the Loadbooks for 40SW. It contains data for 41AE and 10mm. Some of the data providers listed data as interchangable with 40SW, others list specific 41AE data. Sierra uses 41 Magnum bullets with many common pistol powders.

Sierra says brass is an issue because it can't be formed from any other cartridge.

looking at dimensions of the 40s&w and the 41ae nope they use different dies but it looks like you maybe able to use 41 mag dies with a 9mm shell holder as both the 41mag and the 41ae are .434 at the case mouth but the 41ae is .435 at the head vs 41 mag at .434. were the 40s&w is .423/.424

41ae

41mag

40s&w

The original rounds were made up from 41 Magnum's that were trimmed and then turned in a lathe to cut the rim. I was quite enamored with this round. A shooting buddy had a TZ with inner-changeable barrels, 9mm & 41AE. He sold it to a relative not long after the 40 S&W came out. Beautifully functioning pistol. As far as I know IMI was the only one to make factory ammo for it. They even made Uzi's in that caliber.

OK, fellows, thanks, and keep it coming. May bid on the BHP just for mther 9mm and figure the AE is a bonus. Looks like the 41AE could turn into an esxpensive venture, tho, LOL!
