As a counterpoint to that other article John Taffin has an article in the July/August American Handgunner to rebutt the argument that the 45 Colt sucks. Most of it was covered in the other thread, it is interesting though that his Freedom Arms was more accurate with the 45 Colt cylinder than with the 45 ACP cylinder (take that Mike! )

It takes more than just nostalgia to keep a cartridge alive and well for so many years.

Thats one issue I'll have to buy.

Hmmmm, a magazine feud over the .45 Colt ..... this could get interesting.

At the end of the article he says that it's not going to become a feud like Keith and O'Conner had in the 50's and 60's, but it certainly looks like the beginnings of one.

Almost like when Wiley Clapp slammed the 44 Special years ago.

Don't underestimate what a good feud can do for magazine sales!

If the .45 colt is so terrible--explain to me how the gunfighters who were on the losing end of the barrel of one and ended up 6' under.

I am a big believer that big bores will stop bad guys in their tracks. Just guess I was at too many shooting scenes in Houston.
