Hey guys im new here, name is bryan.. i got a
remington 700p a couple months ago and im starting to
do hand loads... id like to shoot 1000+ with it.
currently having the action bedded and putting a brake
on the muzzle.. so i went out and bought some
reloading supplies, just based on research.. Hornady
208 Grain Match BTHP, IMP 7828 Powder, some magnum
primers as well as regular primers... i also got some
Berger 165 VLD Target bullets, and some IMP 4831

i have two reloading manuels, (berger and hornady)

i guess my main questions are, case length, over
bullet length, how far do i seat the bullet? and is
crimping required for this cartridge..

id also love to know some good, proven recipes to try
out. thanks guys!

Hi Bryanad 86 & welcome aboard ! Crimping is not necessary in bolt guns as for COL it depends on your rifle & if you load single round or want to fill the magazine. Its trial and some error to get the Best load put to gather! I usually trim brass .010 under max. The Berger manual has a good starting point for for seating Berger bullets / I don't have my notes handy for so called pet loads for 300 WBy & Win mags. For my self miss reading the wind has a real group destroyer ! Good luck and stay safe Joe
