Titled "I retired my old 4 hole turret press"? It's posted
under somebody else's name and there's nothing in the
post? That's strange.

So Why did you retire it?
I converted one of mine back to a 3 holer cause I
already had a lot of heads set up for it, and I love the
new one with the cast base instead of alum.
But I had a few parts break over the years but still
didn't wear it out and has seen a hell of a lot of ammo
go through it.
And yes I have other presses just no blue one --Yet.
Who knows - maybe someday.

For one thing it's a whole lot easier on the old arm to
pull the lever on the long stroke of the classic as it
is on the old one when your resizing rifle casings. It's
like having power steering on an old antique Mack truck.

Another reason is because of the primers. On the old one
they go down into the press or out in the floor when you
deprime. The primers will built up inside the press and
a couple of weeks ago that they were against the ram and
scored it. I didn't think that brass could score steel
but it did. I had to take the press apart and pull the
ram and put it on my buffing wheel for over an hour to
get the scores smoothed out in order for the ram to
slide smoothly though the base of the press again. On
the classic press the primers fall though the drilled
out ram and fall into a plastic tube attached to the
bottom of the ram. No muss no fuss!

The old press is a great press but the classic is just
better. And for $100.44 from Walmart on line with free
shipping it's a good bargain. Amazon has the same price
including shipping with Prime but they were out of the
presses when I ordered.

I thought Mack trucks came off the line as old antique
beaten up trucks? I can't ever remembering driving a
new one even if they were new.
The Classic 4 hole progressive? I am replacing mine
with that although as I mentioned I converted one back
to 3 hole cause of all the heads I got set up ----And
I love em.
Damned well worth it too if you load like I do for a
lot of different rounds and have lot of heads set up.
In a second (not counting the half day it takes to
find the other head or shell holder) And you are
in business for another round.
I think I misundertook what you were saying in your
original post.
