We're being hit with an artic blast and went from 78 degrees at 5:30pm to 32 degrees at 9:30pm. Sorry, we got no heat and it's expected to be in the teen's by dawn.

Rex,

At times I've been accused of being full of hot air! Maybe it's time for me to pay you another visit!

It's -6 outside here. I have some things I kind of need to do outside, but they probably won't get done, need to go out to the barn and find my Carharts.

My half-feral outside tomcat gets brought inside and locked up away from the other cats in a spare bathroom with food, bed and litter box when it gets like this and he hates it, definitely enjoys the freedom to come and go. I made him a well insulated wooden enclosure out on the porch that's small enough that he stays pretty warm, but low single digits and I worry about him.

I love Kansas, but it really is about as far north as I could stand.

Yep, That arctic blast came sliding down into Southeast
LoUiSiAna this morning and the temps are dropping today.
It is possible we may see some sleet later on.

22 degrees now with a windchill factor of 9. I can handle it. It's times like this that I remember why I left the reservation and moved south.

We got down to -15 last night but now at 0915 we are up to +3. The rest of the week should be nice enough to get some shooting done.

Well, it did chill down here as well so I fired up the woodstove in the basement to help out the gas heater a bit. Down to 4 above this morning and headed down to just below zero tonight. We got just barely enough snow to cover the ground in S. Missouri. More up North along with a bit of ice just prior to the snow. Lots of wrecks I heard.

Thanks Guy, for all the nice pictures of the Cascades. I always loved driving the back trails in the snow with my Jeeps and especially if it was fresh and uncut.

Everyone stay warm and check on any critters that may be outside.

I will see that cold in 2-3 days. Cleaned the ash out of the stove and will wood up the house in the morning. Stay warm and safe my friends.

So true! In fact, down around Miami some full grown bucks have been found caught in mouse traps!

Everyone have a nice Christmas!
