Having owned a Browning Buckmark for 25
years and acquiring a couple of Ruger's
along the way I have always had good 22
pistols to play with. But with age, I have
come to have a great love & respect for
revolvers. Upon looking for a new toy I
had come to the conclusion that this might
be an expensive proposition. The Ruger's &
S&W's while extremely nice definitely out
of my price range. Heritage arms has a
nice American made version, but it just
felt too light. Uberti has a 10 or 12 shot
Stallion my lgs had priced me at $521 out
the door. Not bad, but as a father of two
teenage boys money seams to go elsewhere.
On a Cabela's trip I spotted the pistol I
had been looking for. I purchased a 1873
10 shot Pietta. It has the looks and feel
of my big bore sa's and it's like an
extension to my hand. $320 out the door
made me content with my purchase. After
breaking it in & getting used to the fixed
sights it is definitely a fun plinker at
20-30 yds(I like to shoot empty shotgun
hulls). Now that the 22 scare is over,
there is nothing like some fun shooting.

I've never shot a gun I didn't like.

Looking at prices, I'm thinking gun manufacturers have some strange ideas about how much money we all make. Still, I LOVE the idea of a 22 revolver. I'll have to trawl the LGSs for a used one.

Glad to hear you are having fun with yours!

List of guns/ calibers I own.
