Found an intersting device on eBay for trapping spent primers that usually shoot off all over the place from your press. A clever little box that attaches to the press and is held in place next to the slot in the ram. The primer falls down the ram's slot into the little box. It then continues through the box into a 1/2" exit point where a 1/2" I.D. plastic tube attaches and the old primer travels by gravity into the disposing container of your choice.
The entire device is made on a 3-D printer and is a remarkable achievement in engineering. Made for many different types of presses, the one that I have fits both my ancient Lyman Spar-T turret press and the equally old Lyman Spartan C press. The device is held in place with the cross pin of the priming arm. Resting in that slot, it's held close to the ram's slot and when reaching the top, and the primer is punched out by the decapping pin, it falls into the device. Ingenious idea. Beats the hell outta the old primer catching tray that allows them to still bounce out often and such.
Of course, I'm not gifted to find a way to show a stinking photo, naturally , but rest assured that the device does exist. I found it while searching for press parts in a simple search on eBay. At around $20 or less for any one of a multitude of models, it's not such a bad deal. Finding a primer catching tray for an antique press is hard enough, and then you have to have loads of money to buy it from the pirate that's selling it! And still have primers fly off more often than not! This device is much cheaper and is made for all sorts of presses. And before you ask "Hey Wade, do they make one for a Herters C press from 1958?" don't. I'm not the salesman, and I have no affiliation with the guy making and selling them! All I can say is it works, and if ya wanna look for one go to eBay and check it out as I don't know how to do links either!
Note: I've never seen a thing made on a 3-D printer. It's kinda neat.
