Very much worth the money.   I once had a friend offer me his Colt
Gold Cup.   I shot it at the range and did no better then what I did
with a 1911 while in the service.   I declined and went back to my
revolvers.

Years later another friend offered me the Kimber Pro Carry II.   This
friend also spent a little time teaching me how to shoot it.   I was
amazed at the groups the Kimber shot.   This one I took home and
still have it 15 years later.

If I were in the market for another 1911 it would be another Kimber.

Hm... Looks like locally they are coming in at just under $1k, which means right at or just a bit over that with tax. Maybe I just need to get a second job for my gun habit.
