A friend brought me a 4"x8"x2" bar of pure lead today.
Shielding out of a nuclear power plant. Hope my bullets don't glow in the dark. I already have 4 or 5 pounds of Linotype. I would think about 3-1 lead to lino might be close to a good mix. Now, like Wade, I have to get the chisel and hammer out.

If you know an avid muzzle loader shooter, you might want to swap that for some other form of lead. X-ray shielding is absolutely pure, it has to be because the shielding qualities of it have to be 100% known quantities.

I snagged about 100 pounds of X Ray shielding when I happened on a renovation of a clinic (not too proud to dumpster dive for certain things), so I really don't need it, but seems a shame to alloy something like that which would fill a very specialized niche.

Rex, that reminded me of the "find" in the small building out back last week when looking for the old battery charger. Came across a pure lead cylinder 8" tall and 4" in diameter. Must weigh 20 pounds or so. Maybe more... Clueless about how to cut that up. Here we have lead with no easy way to get it to the pot!

If you can make ingots you might be able to put a eye
hook in the lead and hang it over you outside pot and
lower it a little as it melts
