Listening to Wade's load consolidation theory sounded good to me. Some time ago among other things I shot a 357446 bullet over 6.5 grains Unique and liked the early results. Today I went out with 358477, 358429, 358156 and the 357446. Powders included Unique, 2400 and HP38.
At the end of the session 6.5 grains Unique under the 357446 was by for my favorite. Out of my 4" L frame over my Chrony Beta Master it averaged 1097 fps. The bullet weighed 158 grains with both lube grooves full.
Most would laugh at my shooting but when this 75 year old can keep it on a 6x6 swing plate at what measured out 22 yards, I'm happy as a hog.
There you go Wade, it can be done.

I just knew that would be the "It" bullet for ya
6.5gr Unique. Close enough. Glad to hear it.

And Rex, at 5 years you're junior, smacking a 10"x10" at 25yds is good, at 50yds I go stupid when I hit it more than once

Sounds like you are getting back into the swing of things again! Cool! That just makes my day!

P.s., my consolidation bullet, the RCBS 140gr RNFP, is doing well in my levergun bumped up in a magnum case for the hunt.
