My neighbor, across the road, has issued a challenge to all in the area to a .22 rimfife competition for Saturday. He, in a friendly way, said the entire group assembled will be gunning for me. Word is that the whole bunch will be trying to outshoot me. All I have is a Marlin Mod 60 with a Marbles Bullseye sight, but otherwise stock. Oh well, beware the Batman's rifle. (that was my nickname in Vietnam)
I'll let y'all know how it turns out tomorrow. Same Bat-time. Same Bat-channel!

With the iron sighted Marlin m60, I whooped 4 other shooters, and one using a scoped Ruger 10-22. Shooting a 6" Heritage.22LR, I had my usual shoot left with a single action crap. Then a fella handed me an old Ruger Mk1 and the score went up. Ended up 2nd with pistol [note to self: Ditch the single action]
Did have 3 guys wanting to try my rifle with what was viewedcas having weird sights. Funny!
Overall, was a fun day followed by Barbeque and loads of goodies!

Good job, and it sounds like you had fun too. I've never cared for competition shooting, but shooting .22s with family and friends is one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done.

Nothing like making new pals. Those Marlin 60 rifles are
normally good shooter.

Yes sir, mine is a mid 80's model (forget the exact year) I rescued from a pawn shop with a busted scope and busted rear sight. Recoil buffer crumbling into dust. Rebuilt the weapon and installed the ultra good Marbles Bullseye sight. 100% improvement!
