Looks like Federal dumped Sierra and switched to Berger.   Sierra
really needs to do some work on their MKs.   I know they have tipped
MKs but I've heard nothing about them being competitive.

I see Federal still offers a 168 gr load, don't know if that's the Sierra or not.

This move to Berger is huge. Federal has been using the 168 gr Sierra Match King in their factory match ammo for many years. 25, 30, more?

That 185 gr Berger bullet has a great reputation.

Sierra still makes very good bullets, but this is a big shift by a major ammo maker.

Joe - I don't know what's happening in the "across the course" highpower circles. That's long been the biggest use of the Matchking bullets. In other disciplines, like F-Class, the higher BC bullets, newer designs, have been dominating for quite a while. Berger used to own that market, but now other high Ballistic Coefficient bullets are available.

As shooters, seeing product improvement is a good thing!

Guy, you're right, looks like they still offer the 168 gr Sierra Match
Kings.   The 185 gr appears to be the Berger.

I'm really curious what other bullets are out there.   My biggest
complaint has always been Sierra, Nosler and Hornady are not
developing new bullets.   They are getting better.

Dang, I can hardly keep up with all the new stuff from Nosler over recent years.

Their hunting bullet lineup alone is pretty impressive:

Partition
Accubond
Accubond Long Range
Ballistic Tip
E-Tip
Solids (for heavy game)

Then there are a couple of kinds of competition bullets.

And their handgun bullet line.

I just like that they also keep making my old favorites, the Partitions and the Ballistic Tips.
