A week ago I was carrying a heavy pack full of freshly killed venison to my Jeep in the dark.

Tonight I savored some of those backstrap steaks:

Hunters can eat very well.

Oh boy. That looks like a fantastic meal. Makes all that work a bit more worth the trouble.

Best part of a deer. We usually use them as chicken fried steaks (yeah, we're southerners). For steaks from other parts of the deer, I have a Swiss steak recipe I like a lot too.

Mmm, Mmm! Looking good.

Late season archery can't get here fast enough. I can't wait to join you in a
meal.

Looks mighty good Guy! Archery just opened here and the temps are supposed to cool down in a couple days.

That's cool!

Why are you getting me all whipped up with such a nice dinner when I haven't got a deer this year yet!

Today I shot my deer in the back yard from the porch. Yes it was hard but I finally dragged it in the deep snow the entire 50 feet to the garage to hang it, with my BEAUTIFUL wife's help. Exhausted, I came back in the house to finish my still warm coffee.
Yes, I am blessed!!!!!!!
