Shot him right around 350 yards. Weatherby Vanguard .257 Weatherby Magnum. 66 grains of IMR 4350 behind a 100 grain Hornady Interlock. I really like the .257 Weatherby, flat shooting, .270 Win recoil

Very nice! Good to see lady hunters.

I don't know a whole lot about prong horns, but the rack on that one seems pretty heavy compared to most I've seen and wider than most, is that correct? I'm not a trophy hunter by any means, just kind of curious.

It`s a mediocre buck, wide horns always look nicer just like they do in deer. Been buying meat at the grocery store for the past month so it was nice to get some meat in the freezer. Should be a good eating animal.
As for the rest of the story....we spotted this herd from about a half a mile. Planned a stock that should put us within 200 yards or so. Peaked over the hill and took a reading on the rangfinder and the herd was in the 350 yard area. Was hoping to get within 250 or less. Got her in the prone position, bipods and backback supporting the butt. It was a either sex tag so I told her to pick one broadside and aim for the top of the back. BOOM...the whole herd took off. She said the one she shot at went the other direction. Sure enough we went down and found it dead. You can see where the bullet hit low by the front left leg, scrambled the lower chest cavity and broke the far leg on exit. Turned out she misunderstood me and she held mid body. Good thing she was shooting the .257 Weatherby. 2 or 3 inches lower and it might of been a wounded animal. Everything turned out good

She did well, and yes, that flat-shooting Weatherby worked real well. That's where the cartridge excels.

See many antelope?
I spent 4 days hunting them northwest of Roundup. Few and far between.
(notice I said hunting, never did get a shot)

There was plenty of them this year. Nice herds of 20 or so.

Of course it`s nice to have a place in the middle of antelope country!

View from the porch of my cabin last fall.
