First pheasant hunt of the year today. My son and I took Ol' Clarkie out for roosters. Only came home with two, but thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Yes, that's a duck decoy in the pond. Someone was hunting ducks there in the morning before we got out there for pheasants. I hope they got some!

Which is fine, a load of #6 steel drops 'em just fine.

Last year, I ran out of #6's and stopped at the local gunshop... All they had that was remotely suitable was a bunch of 12 gauge, 3" magnum #4's...

Oh my goodness! That load swatted those birds out of the air!

I saw no real downside to using it either. Recoil in the semi-auto wasn't a problem at all.
