I'm looking for one powder that I can fill

10mm
Just under 44 Magnum
45 Colt
Hot 45 ACP
357 Magnum

Ideally, I'd like it to have a high case volume.

Any thoughts?

Hodgdon Universal. Does it all. Loading data for this
powder is well documented.

Welcome aboard!

Another vote for bluedot... i load my 9mm and 45acp with it but go for lilgun in my 357 and 44mag... bluedot also works for those but I found lilgun had a little less felt recoil at similar velocities with heavy hot loads.

Might look into Longshot or CFE pistol. I've
had good luck with multiple calibers with
these. Case volume might not be high though.

A few years ago when Unique was hard to find I tried Universal.
I can load all my handguns with Universal but I can't attest to
how much space it takes up in a cse (I just look in every
charged case before I put a bullet in it). I now use in in my
9mms (125 JHP), 38s (cast 125, 158 lead) .357 (125 JHP), 44
Special (cast 240 SWC), 44 Magnums (revolvers and rifle
w/240 JHP, 240 and 265 RNFP) and 45 ACPs (200 cast SWC,
230 FMJ)...

Universal is just a bit more "fluffy" than Unique, but is
twice as clean burning.
In a .45ACP it fills the case better than Unique as well
as with 44Mag and such. If I had to estimate, I'd say
about 10% or so less space with Universal. Just an
estimate there.

I went with Universal, since I also load a goodly amount of shotshells.

I love my Green Dot in .44 Magnum, but, boy, is it sooty.

I've had good luck with Blue Dot.

Also, if you don't mind a powder that meters terribly, an often overlooked candidate is Hi-Skor 800X. Extremely versatile but you pretty much have to weight each charge individually.

Hard to beat UNIQUE. It has 120 years of load data.
I find it hard to trust these newbies like UNIVERSAL that
have only been around 30 years of so. Maybe when it turns
50?

Honestly, both are good choices. If you have never opened
a can of UNIVERSAL... it does look like dirt at first
glance.

Wise decision.

My supplier loads all his shotguns with Universal and all
his "Dot" powders are no longer in use. Same with his
pistols. After I tried it, I too was hooked.
