In fact my mustache keeps a close watch on my moral
compass as well. A few years ago I was tempted by Darth
and the boys to go over to the dark side. Hey, they were
offering cookies. Hard to turn em down but since my
mustache threatened to leave my face and take my eyebrows
with it well I had no choice. I didn't want to have no
eyebrows like Whoopie Goldberg!
Told Darth to forget it. Besides, he didn't have
sugarless anyway.

Ya know, to be perfectly honest, I really dig the mil-dot
scopes and can use them quite well when they're not
falling off my weapons or being given to whiners who
"need" scopes to shoot.

Today, I went out with my trusty M92 357 20" octagonal
and went nuts at 75m standing. Was one round short of 30
when I started. And just like that Gordon Lightfoot song,
the [church] bell rang 29 times for each man on the
Edmond Fitzgerald. Cool tune and that 10" iron
square was a snap to smack. Those old style buckhorns and
gold bead are a deadly combination in that levergun...
Not that good yet with the M4. Still feels a might odd to
me. A little flimsy in my mind.

Speaking about mustaches and stuff. My famous quote
"Putting a scope on a levergun is like drawing a mustache
on the Mona Lisa." sure stirred up some ole boys at
another site some years back. That bunch wanted to lynch
me. They had no sense of humor.

My new M92 357 is definitely one of my favorite rifles... Definitely changed my "you only get one, of each" choice... now I'd grab my M92 and the wifes sp101... Have only had the M92 to the range once and went to the pistol range to see how she chrono's my standard loads... but off hand at 25yrds on 4" desert plates I'd have try really hard to miss. Look forward to stretching her legs and seeing how she runs at longer distances.

Wade, since it's such a similar gun I'm interested what load you are running?

Wade like you I really enjoy shooting iron sights. I'm a
scope user for sure but the irons are more enjoyable.

Lynn, I'd probably use scopes more if the didn't break,
fall off the weapon, or "needy" people wouldn't act all
pitiful and my giving them away.

Was out yesterday with the AR15 with irons on top at 150m
[max range at my place] hunkered down in the prone with a
20rd mag of 62gr Bolshevik firecrackers, commonly known
as Russian steel cased rounds. Did pretty good too, got
20 for 20 on the 10in by 10in iron plate. I could hear
Matthew Quigley in the background chuckling saying
"That's the way to do it son."
We share similar mustaches after all.
