I tried a Lee progressive once had one 9mm round settle
half way in the barrel only propelled by the primer. I
prefer being able to check for powder as I'm loading now.

Well, three holes just ain't enough. You can get a kit to
update the older 3 hole turret press to use 4 hole
turrets and you can still get the "old style" aluminum
base turret press.
As for the FCD, FOR HANDGUN AMMO, in 30 years plus of
reloading I have never had a need to post seating
crimping resize a cartridge for handgun ammo. If a
cartridge won't chamber correctly, I'll find out why and
correct the problem, usually just die adjustment. Out of
curiosity I bought an FCD for my 44 Magnum, but that die
now resides in a landfill somewhere in So. Oregon.....

I could never figure out the point of the FCD. If you set up the dies properly you can seat and crimp at the same time. I load for the .38 Special, 45 Colt, 38-55, 45-70, 50-70 all straight walled cases and have never had a problem crimping. The key is setting them up right. Any reloading manual or the die instructions gives you the steps on how to do it. |

I pert near use the on my stuff, because I find they my ammo is usually a tad to a bit more accurate than when I don't. Not all but most. And my ES decreases too.
