Our youngest son and his two boys came out from the city Thursday morning. His oldest, a junior in high school had been hunting once, youngest a freshman, made his first trip and hadn't pulled the trigger on his shotgun yet. We hunted Thursday afternoon and Friday morning before
they had to leave. Didn't have a pheasant give us a good shot but saw a lot of quail. The older grandson shot his first quail and the younger got to pull his trigger a lot. Old Granddad stayed out of the way and guided. Lord, walking in that snow half way to my knees and the weeds about killed this old man.
My youngest son can still run a shotgun about as well as anyone I ever say, me not so good anymore.

Sounds like a good time. On day, I'm gonna have to get into bird hunting. I think I'm going to have to find somewhere further west to do it, don't seem to see many pheasants or quail around here anymore.

Be careful out there exerting like that in the cold, it'll take it's toll on you quicker than you realize.

I wanted to try it this year with the Browning but didn't get the
chance.

Sounds like a good time Rex.

It was great watching the Grandkids. They will be life long hunters I'm sure.

That's great about the Grandkids.   I was just reading today that the
NRA is encouraging people to get out and hunt because no one
hunts anymore.

Outstanding! I grew up hunting birds with Dad, and these days, there is no one I'd rather hunt with than my son.

Glad you got out!
