I have similar feelings. When I was a young man I would have given anything for a place, like this where I can hunt from my front porch. Now I am of an age when I can see my own mortality looming up and I am not interested in killing things.

I guess that is called irony..

Whether or you believe in "Global Warming" and whether or not you believe it is anthrogenic (i.e. man-made), the fact of the matter is that most of our nation's motor fuel oil and heating oil still comes from outside our own borders - and is often paid to people who oppose us.

All you have done is to enrich our enemies.

Intentionally providing aid and comfort to the enemies of our nation is called treason. And the fact you not only admit to it, but also take pride in it makes it doubly worthy of condemnation.

I drive very little, so use very little fuel. My contributions to atmospheric carbon are in the form of wood I burn in my stove from trees cut off of my own property.

I am a veteran, have been in service to my country for over thirty years in one form of service or another, and take strong exception to your comment about treason.

I love to drive & to do so requires the purchase of
fuel. In fact the argument can be made this country runs
on oil. I could never understand why we didn't produce
our own seeing as how we have plenty. But the efforts
are hampered by regulations & allow imports, free
markets, etc. It is true when you want less activity you
regulate or tax that activity.

Now we are the major producer of energy & the money has
a better chance of staying here instead of going to our
enemies yet there are plenty in the country who fight
our energy activity.

I think John's comment:
Quote:
I have been doing my due
diligence, to increase atmospheric carbon, hoping for my
share of the "Global Warming",...

was simply to say he was ready for warmer weather which
I am also.

And like him I take strong exception to your comment
about treason & hope it was meant to imply something
other as did John's comment on Global Warming.

As the Bible says: "Come let us reason together."

60 here yesterday, with clear skys, lots of snow melt, nearly 60 again today, then rain on Wed, followed by possible snow showers the rest of the week.

I am starting to see a pattern here, every time, the snow melts and I think about putting the brush hog on my tractor and getting after mt pastures,,it snow again. Obviously a case of "wrong thinking"..!

I have a large Blue Spruce who's limbs hung down and made it painful to mow around and under....the chain saw and I gave it a hair cut yesterday that should make it much easier to maintain.

I have a story.. I had just bought a new hat, I was out mowing in my upper pasture, and as I went under one of the big pines, I was looking back at the mower, a branch snapped back off the roll cage picked my new hat right off my head and deposited it under the brush hog..

Just spotted that foul remark earlier. John is an honored
veteran and brother peace officer. Insulting him insults
me as well. If in the same room when said, the speaker
would require medical attention. Nuff said...

I was going to say something about spring being here but
now I'm too pissed off!

I was vibrating when I read that comment as well, I had to go out and talk to my horses for a while, they always have a calming effect on me, before I typed my response.

I had some glorious weather, bright sun and 60 degrees, my snow was melting and when I woke up this morning it was snowing again..

Copy that. Horses are great friends!
Couldn't afford to keep my old paint & mustang rescue
horses. They're down the road a piece. We still talk.

Ok, back to spring....

Awoke to the stench of skunk! Sure sign it's spring. Oh
and red wasps everywhere!!

Lately there's a dead stinky skunk squished in the
roadway about every two miles. Kinda like stinky liberals
being everywhere smelling up decent folks progress!

Happy Equinox.. It has been an unusually cold spring. A few days of sun and 50 deg. days then it cools back down and gets into the 20s at night.

Lighten up. No need to insult a member here.

Have you considered the fact that none of us have a choice in the
matter. If you want to cuss somebody, try the greedy S.O.B.s that run
the oil companies. I sometimes think their goal is, "Let's use up
everybody else's oil, then we'll control the market."

Anyone notice the yo yo up and down on gas prices? Wonder who's
behind that crap? Who keeps manipulating the pride of crude?

Global warming man made? Horse crap! When Mt. St. Helens blew it's
stack, more crap was thrown into the atmosphere that all of what man
has produced since he came down from the trees. When Mt. Pinatubo
in the Philippines erupted more junk in the air. O wonder how much
emanates from that volcano in Hawaii that hasn't stopped erupting in
how many years. Oh yeah, it's man's fault. In a pig's exhaust pipe it is.

As a retired meteorologist having worked in the field for 33 years. I've
formed my own theories and conclusions on the subject.

Now on why we aren't using our own oil, damned if I know. I think the
main excuse is it would cost more to produce it here as labor costs are
so much higher. Maybe corporate greed as mentioned earlier.

Now if John is committing treason for driving his vehicle as you stated,
then I guess I'm just as guilty as I too drive my vehicles. Unless you
either walk everywhere you go or ride a bicycle, guess what? You're
guilty too. Oh my! Did I just say that.
