Now back on topic.....
My father had a pre-64 Win M70 in .30'06. A Rem 870
Wingmaster in 20ga. And a Colt Officers Mod in .41LC.
That was it. In later years he swapped the 41 colt for a
Colt Viper in .38Spl for ease of getting ammo. But again,
1 rifle, 1 shotgun, and 1 pistol. And that old man could
shoot too! He hunted whitetail in Texas, elk in Colorado,
whitewing dove along the Mexican border, and blasted more
varmints than I could count. And he never missed either.
He was so instinctively dialed in with those weapons it
So the old saying "Beware the man with one rifle as he
can probably use it." held true with my father.
If he could see it, he could hit it. I'm just about there
with my M92 .357 rifle. I'm about to catch up with my
'ole pop. Just took me awhile to realize I only need one
rifle. [FYI, the AR is more a plaything than a
serious rifle to me] And about the half dozen handguns...
I plead guilty! They're my weakness
