Gents,

I was surfing the web today and found that MidSouth is selling Fiocci Small Pistol primers by the 12,000 count. No, that's not a typo. So, I suppose if you a LOT of pistol work - using small primers - it's a deal for you.

At my rate, that would last, um...

I'm 75 years old and afraid my widow would have them on her yard sale.

Considering primers are the one component
that is the true bottle-neck for firearms.
Everything else if you really have too you
can make yourself. Combined with the
current anti- push having that level of a
stockpile might not be the worst way to
spend a limited budget strategically.

I have bought Fiocchi primers years ago and still have a good many large rifle primers. They came in sleeves of 250 primers, so a whole brick of them contained probably 2500. They worked great and seemed to compare to other brands when priming and they all fired. I recommend them.

Fiocchi has a small ammunition factory just North of my home town of Ozark, Mo. In fact, my wife worked there for just a little over a month and said they were great folks to work for and she liked working there. Repetitive lifting of the heavy shell holders and such as most factory work goes got to her wrists and hands to the point that she could not even hold a coffee cup so she had to give it up.

They manufactured handgun, rifle, and shotgun rounds. Unfortunately, they don't sell any products to the public. Strictly to retailers.

Man, one of these days I'm going to have to settle down so I can become a retailer. Would make my hobbies MUCH less expensive.

Well I got some small pistol primers of this type on sale at Cabelas a while ago and started using them today. They seem to load OK. We will see how they perform but it was trying to snow today so don't know when I will get out! Craig

Shot the small pistol primers today and I could not see a difference between those and Winchester. Craig

This is good to know, it provides us with a lower cost alternative. For anyone who handloads to save money, this is certainly a win.
