Do those round ball loads feed and function the slide in a 1911 or do you have to cycle the pistol manually?

Not that it would be bad to cycle manually. I HATE chasing brass and if that was the trade off for having a cheap and fun plinking load, it would be worth it.

I have a couple of different loads, with the RBs. 3.5 grn of Hodgdon Clays, will not function the action, 5 gr., of Clays will and they feed just fine, in my Ruger American .45ACP.

As I recall back when I first started doing this in 1968, 6 grn of BE would function the action in my Colt 1911.

With pure lead balls, I have to use a bit of a roll crimp to get them to stay in place.
