It's been raining off and on for a few days and more predicted. I just remembered that Memorial Day is coming up and it always rains here for that weekend.
If we don't get the Memorial Day rains it's going to be a dry year.

Living in northern Ohio you have to get used to rain and cold.
Before I retired I used to get out of here for Memorial Day and go
south to enjoy decent weather.

The pattern so far this year has had rain almost every weekend,
can't tell you how I'm hoping this changes quickly.

We still have soy beans to plant but we hate to complain about rain for fear it will quit and stay dry the rest of the year.

Rex, I wish I could send you some of our rain.   They said dry today
but I don't think they have windows where they predict the weather.
So far it's a blistering 58 degrees here at 9 am.

I don't know how the farmers survive here, I see more fields
underwater every year.    But they seem to survive.

Rex

Could just about count on Memorial Day rain when I used to plan a prairie dog trip that week...

We had a dry spell for the first couple weeks of this month. I needed to have the timber cut on my property and the loggers had just enough time to get it done and move their equipment out before the rains came back.

Cutting the timber will make the Fla. Dept. of Revenue happy! And, me too!

There are a bunch of bridges that washed away in Lee
county, the one bordering this one. Also the Chattahoochee
is rising to flood stage... And it doesn't look like it
will get better anytime soon.

Well, It's Memorial Day and the rain is right on time.
We've had 2.5 inches so far and it looks like it could last a while. A neighbor's tree is down and we lost lights last night for an hour or so now today we have no T.V. and that's not a bad deal!
This is truly a day to stay inside, relax and remember.

I will think of my uncle who went through the Pacific islands during WW2. A farm boy just graduated from high school, he never told anyone where he had been or seen. Came home with a bottle of whiskey in his hand and never put it down until he died. Those things effected different people in different ways.
God Bless you Sgt. R.W. Brown!
