Got a text from my #1 granddaughter yesterday. She
doesn't call. Just text like all young folks do.
She announced that I am going to be a "Hip Great
Grandfather". I about passed out....
I'm not ready for this. I'm still trying to figure out
Medicare. This being old stuff confuses the hell outta
me! And now a great grandpa?
But I'm happy for my grandkids. They'll be good parents.

Now I'm going to go have a nervous breakdown and try to
watch a movie I like where all the actors are not all
dead now! Watched The Searches yesterday and
realized everyone in that movie except Pat Wayne was
dead. Depressing....

Congrats, Wade! I have one Greatgrandson and as the name implies, he is GREAT! You and I won't pass through this world with no contributions. Our blood will be here for a long time.

I guess it's because I look upon my granddaughter more as
a daughter since I raised her from a toddler thru high
school. Her father showed up later, but I was still doing
all the heavy lifting. So I see her more as a daughter
you see. So the idea of a great grand child shakes me up
a little I guess

Master Chief, you gave your grandson a Beamer as a
wedding present? Great Zoikes! All I could afford
was used reloading gear with some donated components from
a couple members here.
Ya know, I'd take up drinking now after all this but I
can't afford it.

Shucks guys. I didn't do much. I was probably in the
latrine washing my hands.

I hope to be around long enough to tell this little one
tales of our Lakota ancestors, great-great grandfather
Ted, and uncle Leo and great-great-great uncle Red Fox
and his uncle, Crazy Horse. Yup, just hope I last that
long.

Wade,

If you're gonna tell the little one stories, be sure and tell the story of how you shook your revolver apart and the barrel and cylinder fell to the ground, leaving you with only the grip frame in your hand!

Don Knotts was the "Shakiest Gun in the West"!

Or the time the loading lever lug blew off the Ruger Old
Army?

And in an act of sheer defiance to being antique I did
the unthinkable. After more than 45 years, I shaved off
the infamous "Wade Mustache" that was copied by Tom
Selleck so he could try and be as cool. Yup, it took 10
years off my looks, and about half a pound as well. That
thing was thick!

Used a fresh Feather double edge blade from Japan in my
gold 1940 Gillette Technical razor. Figured it deserved
my "Cadillac" razor for the occasion. Normally use a 1964
Gillette Slim Adjustable since when I bought it new for a
buck and a quarter. Still got the plastic case for it
too.

So if it's a boy, he can have my vintage shaving gear. A
girl? Well she can display em in the shrine that they'll
build after I'm gone.
More than likely they'll sell my old razors on eBay!
Youngsters don't care about old stuff anyway.

But now at least I don't look a day past 60....um 65?
68?.... Ok 70 with no mustache and a pale upper lip!
