I bought a box of his "Law Enforcement" 180gr. HP bullets in .44 Mag. way back in the mid 70's thinking they would be a great deer round. I was still a bit new to handgun shooting and never once thought about seeing if they shot anywhere near the same as my old Elmer Keith cast 250gr. bullets, which I thought were pure dynamite anyway.

Long story short, first deer that I had ever attempted to shoot with a revolver happened to be a really huge 12-14 point at around 30-40 yards. The darn things shot so fast that they were about a foot low. Missed the deer completely and he just trotted off about another 75 yards and way out of my range, stopped, and looked back to see what had made all that ruckus.

I had tears in my eyes. Learned a lesson though.
