I saw a friend of mine yesterday and we discussed the
possibility of trading some handguns. I have a hankering
for a RedHawk model 5050... the .45 Colt/.45 acp
revolver... He's pondering the proposition....

Well, hope it works out for you.

And show us the range results from that rascal if you get the Redhawk!

I picked up a Redhawk .45 Colt/.45 ACP earlier this year. Very nice
revolver. Best loads for me have been with .45 Colt using cast bullets,
250 grains or heavier, loaded with either Unique or 2400.

I want one of those too. To a handloader, especially a bullet caster, nothing has more fun potential than a big bore revolver.

And I won't have to chase brass, either.

I have several .45 cal molds, from 185 gr on up to at
least an RCBS 270 SAA mold...

The 45-270-SAA is my favorite in both my Redhawk and Blackhawk. I
have used much of the data published by Brian Pearce. Best results
with 2400.

That gun is on the top of my list. I have held one at the local GS, nearly walked out with it

I have 5.5" Redhawk in .45 Colt, I have shot .45ACP in that gun by putting an "O" ring in the extractor groove. A bit fussy finding the right "O" ring size, but they fire and eject.
