Sad to hear but didn't think he would last long after his wife died...

I don't think anyone expected the old warrior to last much longer.

He was my Commander In Chief during Desert Storm.

Though I didn't agree with everything he did, I truly believe that he was a good man. Certainly accomplished a lot during his life!

Regards, Guy

Good man who answered his country's call more than once.

I'll add on to what Guy said. When I was a youngster sitting in the Saudi Desert wondering what was gonna happen, I did know who our commander in chief was and what he had done as a dive bomber pilot in WWII. No doubt in my mind that had he been of an age and position to do so, he'd have led the charge north. I have serious doubts about any president since.

When I retired and you get one of the congratulatory form letters of thanks from the president, I declined one, but knew you could write the office of any living president and request one, so I did and still have it from President Bush.

They don't make them like that anymore.

My retirement thanks was signed G. H. W. Bush.
Glad it was not the person who followed him.....

Thanks guys.

I know he blew some decisions, but he was a good man and did more than most. His passing hit me hard, though I knew it was coming. "End of an era" is greatly over-used, but with him... Yup.

I used to love those news reports trying to make fun of him firing up that gas-guzzling motorboat of his... He and that boat were awesome. He was kind of like an extension of Reagan, not that anyone else could actually be Ronald Reagan.

I missed him as soon as he was gone from office.

He and Laura are together now. That's good.

Guy

Sure is & I meant no harm. Barbara is the name of my wife
so it's easy for me to remember. And then there is Laura,
what a charming woman, well worthy of the title First
Lady.
