A brisk 32 this morning, sidewalks & streets very icy. So... Loaded the Jeep, headed to the range.

204 Ruger, CZ 527, 4.5-14x Leupold. Handloaded 35 gr Berger HP flat base varmint bullets:

Just under 1/2" at 100 yards:

Big Ugly Ruger 6 Creedmoor, Vortex scope, Hornady factory 108 gr ELD match ammo:

Looks under 3/4" with potential for more! After this group, I took used it on the 400 yard gong. Shoots great!

I enjoyed these two accurate, no/low recoil rifles tremendously.

Pretty impressive, especially for a first time out with factory ammo.

Ya, I'm pleased. Have to get used to it. The Ruger Precision Rifle is very different from any of my other rifles, but it's quite easy to be accurate with. A buddy wants to sell me a better muzzle brake for it. Huh, I was impressed with the one on it. Maybe..

The little 204 Ruger/CZ rifle has been tucked in the back of my gunsafe for a few years, very seldom used. I bought it when I was doing more varmint shooting. When I slowed down on that, it went to the back of the safe and stayed there. I actually forgot that I owned one!

Just replaced the fixed 12x Leupold with the 4.5-14x Leupold which I think will make a better coyote rifle of it. Quite a nice little rifle, and it was good to see that it still shoots 1/2" groups at 100 yards with my handloads.

Was so fun to shoot two rifles that have almost no recoil!

Guy

The December issue of "Handloader" magazine had an article on the 6mm. The last thing I need is to pick up another caliber but......
