Last week I told you guys about my trip to the range with my S&W 19-3. Well today I took it's little brother there. My S&W 15-3 .38 Spl. I had another fun time shooting the old gun but got to wondering what year it was made. Anyone know if there is a web site where I could look up the serial number and get the year of manufacture? I found one site but when I tried to download the app my virus protection blocked it.

That's the site my antivirus software blocked. If it's safe I'll download it.

I have 4 or 5 sheets listing all S&W S/N's by frame size.
Send me a PM with the s/n and I can look it up for you.

My first firearm was a model 15, also known as the "Combat Masterpiece". Beautiful weapons, regardless of what the "experts" had to say about them and the .38 special cartridge.

I have one also. Looks bad but shoots great.
But I still prefer a S&W Magnum my self.....
Have a .357 in J, K, and N frame. Sold the M686 years ago.

I prefer a S&W magnum myself, a .41. But I don't need a "magnum", I just prefer the larger calibers. But if I was carrying a K frame, the model 15, or model 67 in stainless, would suit me just fine.

I still have my 686's but have never cared for them as much as the K or N frames. The little J frames just don't fit very well and having one in .357 magnum never made sense to me.
