Hi from UK;
Been shooting since i was 13, now 74.
Kill paper twice each week, but, find it boring. Also hunt deer and fox
occasionally.
Thanks,Ken.

REM1875,
Thanks for the welcome.
We do have some pretty tight regs. regarding firearms over here, but,
it's nowhere near as bad as people think.
We can have pretty much any rifle we want, as long as we have a
legitimate use for it. That goes up to .50 cal. centerfire.
BP pistols are okay for range use, but, smokeless pistols need to have
a 12" barrel and a fixed wrist brace that makes the gun 24" overall
length.
I'm a member of a club and one of our members has in excess of 50
rifles. Firearms certificate have to be renewed every 5 years and any
offences (Apart from parking ticket) is notifyable. That's going back to
when you were born!
Hope this clarifys things somewhat. Regards,Ken.

We used to get quite a few posts from a member from the UK who was quite an avid fox hunter and did so at night, which is very restricted in most of the US but allowed there and he had some interesting set ups he used. I haven't seen him post in a long time and can't remember his screen name.

Glad to have you here, Kenbro. I'm also glad it's not as bad for you shooters in the UK as we hear.

Thanks to all for the welcome messages.
Hell of a lot of hunters in UK into foxing at night.
Some spend 8,000 to 10,000 ($13,000) on night vision equipment,
but, that's above my pay grade.
At 74 and not the fittest anymore, my night hunting is once every few
weeks and then not always successful (Not many foxes in our area
compared to hunters!)
I have a digital (Cheap) spotter, but use a lamp for actual shots.
Cheers,Ken.
Ps. 17 Fireball and 17 Rem. were my gun preferences for fox.
Deer gun was always .243.Win.
Go to gun for everything now is my 25-45 Sharps bolt.
I'm just in the process of having a 18 Fireball built. Must be eccentric!

That's OK, eccentric is a good thing. Stick around, you'll find this is one of the friendlier forums on the web. Not as much posting as used to go on, but still a lot of very knowledgeable people on here.
